SCHOOL:

• Leadership Meeting - a brief leadership meeting today at lunch time.

• Cell Phone Policy:
• Parents: an announcement was made after lunch as a reminder to students regarding having their cell phone on their person during school hours; most importantly, in the classrooms.  While we recognize the value of cell phones, we are also very much aware of the downfalls such as distraction from learning, taking unsolicited photos/videos, playing games, and sending messages to other students in other classrooms to meet in hallways or washrooms during class time.
• All students will be asked to leave their cell phones in their lockers; they will not be permitted to have them in class. If a student does not feel that their locker is a safe place, we have the ability to securely store their phone in the main office.
• If a student is using their phone in class, they will be asked to bring it to the office and it will be returned to them at the end of the school day.  We will follow up with an email home.
• A second infraction will result in the student turning their cell phone into the office first thing in the morning for the remainder of the week. The phone will be returned at the end of every day.
• A third incident will result in a one day in-school suspension.
• By limiting cell phone use to designated times, we aim to create a more focused and conducive atmosphere for learning. Students will still have the opportunity to use their phones during lunch, allowing them to stay connected with friends and family. Our school is equipped with phones in every classroom. If you need to reach your child or communicate a message, please call 902-435-8325 and we will get the message to your child.  As well, if your child needs to contact you, we will allow them to leave the class to use the phone in the main office.
• We appreciate your support in reinforcing the importance of this policy at home. Encouraging responsible cell phone use and emphasizing the benefits of reduced distractions during class time will contribute to the overall success of our students.

SPORTS:

• Track & Field Meeting - meeting today at 2:40 in th gym.  Runners are asked to stay and run at 3:30pm.
• Girls Flag Football - tomorrow until 4:30pm.  Please wear proper indoor/outdoor footwear and mouth guards.
